Redesigned book cover: 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' by Douglas Adams

Context:
You may be familiar with the old saying “never judge a book by its cover”.
This saying suggests that we should not form an opinion of someone based upon how they look. However, the cover of a book gives you an instant impression of what might be inside, in the same way that a person's appearance can suggest their character and background.
A publishing house is asking for illustrators and designers to submit cover designs for two of the books of their choice.

Brief:
You are to produce two book cover designs. The cover designs should show consideration of layout, and each one must include an illustrated image that is your own. This image can be in any size or scale within the cover design. It can be made in any media, providing it consists of some form of illustration.
You are asked to produce the front and back covers, plus the spine of the books. Illustration can appear on any of these areas. Measurements for the single book covers are 110mm x 180mm and the spine is 12mm wide. Therefore the total width of the front and back including the spine is 232mm.

Wording on the front cover and spine should be limited to the name of the author and the title of the book. Do not include any other wording unless it is a necessary part of the illustration and does not distract from the title. Do not include at this stage publisher’s logo, ISBN, prices or bar codes.
The back cover should include a brief synopsis of the book which is no more than 50 words in length.
